Hold on to your seats here lovers. Buckle up. This is a home tour that is all party, a party for the eyes that is. You shall be enthralled.
Meet Christine Dovey, decorator, artist and the blogger who pens Bijou and Bohemme. If you aren’t following her blog, you are missing out, and I’m all about sharing the love around here so please, do your self a favour and get on that.
An image of Christine’s sons nursery on Pinterest lead me to Christine’s blog, it’s safe to say she had me at hello. I’m erring on stalker, I have no qualms about that, she is just so talented. Any free moments, rare as those are , are spent reading her musings and lusting after her rooms designs. It does however leave me wishing I lived State side so I could avail myself of a custom designed room, that is a dream I wish could be my reality.
Not only is she a decorator of substance, she is an artist and sells her artwork on her Etsy shop, Art + Reverie. She is mum to four children, who by the way are picture perfect too. Perhaps one of the things which drew me to her blog, other than the amazing rooms she puts together and sources she shares, is the way in which she writes, so refreshing to find someone who writes as she speaks and calls a spade a spade! I find myself drinking from her Kool Aide often.
What I, and clearly a lot of you, love about her, is her unique style. Christines signature aesthetic can best be described as a blushy cocktail of delicate pretty mixed with a dash of modern edge. Christine who is an ex teacher, loves the fact that she can work from home doing something she loves all while being accessible to her children, that she says, makes her pretty lucky. Something she toasts most nights with the clink clink of a well sized wine glass. Amen sister.
Now for the home tour that will knock your socks off, drink this in, she says picking up her chin and closing her mouth.
There is no saving the best for last here, it’s all equally inspiring! But this room, I love every bit. That photograph, could you die?
In the family room, more black, white and gold. Does it get better?
Subway tiles, grey grouting. Love.
This is the image which took me to Christine’s blog, this is undoubtably one of my top nurseries to date!
Christine’s daughter, Scarlet, is one lucky little lady! That wallpaper!
Did I ever think I would have laundry room envy? That would be a no. I seemed to have been proved wrong. Those doors are all kinds of gorgeous, They are high gloss black, vintage and all the way from Hungary.
My parting shot? This end of the room. The black leather day bed being amongst my favourite things.
Stay tuned, I shall be bringing you more of this all out fabulosity in a few weeks, when we chat to Christine and she shares a few nuggets worth reading!
