CHRISTMAS THE POETRY WAY

0 Posted by - November 28, 2016 - Lifestyle

Hello to the first of December and all you lovelies.

For those of us that are ahead of our game, Christmas trees are up and decorated and Christmas gifts bought. I’m afraid to say, and somewhat panicked, that I do not fall into that category this year. Actually, who am I kidding, I haven’t managed to get that right for a few years now. This time of year is always crazy, finishing off the work year, social engagements and never ending school runs.

Despite the fact that I’m not Christmas ready in that regard, I am however prepared with my table setting and menu of course. For me personally, I’m all about easy entertaining with the focus on good food, family, friends and having as much pre-prepped before the big day, or evening if you celebrate on Christmas eve too! With this in mind, I opt for the opposite of decking every hall, and less is more is most definitely my mantra.

Whether your style is traditional or you set your table a little more modern with a Christmas twist, Poetry Stores have you covered. From the chic and stylish Plata range, which boasts a sleek grey finish to the Espresso collection, with the beautiful white and brown hand painted finish along the inside contrasts the solid border perfectly. Both ranges are perfect for easy entertaining and allow for simple table accessories as the crockery is the star of the show. Hand made and imported from Portugal, and dishwasher safe, which let’s be serious, is a huge win, you’ll be spoilt for choice this festive season.

If summer hues and pops of colour are your vibe, look no further. The Clay Hugo platter boasts beauiful shades of blue and grey with contrasting textures for a modern finish.

My top tip? Mix it up. Give your table a extra dose of Christmas magic by mixing and matching your crockery, glass ware and even napery. Think adding a pop of colour to your table  by mixing in a different coloured side plate, or using your bigger platters or salad bowls as table décor filled with tree decorations.  Add spray painted foliage from your garden or leave it natural for a fresh yet impactful punch. The rules? There are none. It’s up to you how you choose to entertain, with that said, have fun setting your table and entertaining your family and friends, a beautiful table is lovely, but it’s the memories we make that’s most important.
